Leaving Tophead, turn left at the foot of the drive, left over the crossroads at Pitcairngreen and Almondbank - carry on through Almondbank to meet Perth - Crieff road - turn right.
12 miles to Gilmerton - turn right up A822 through Sma' Glen to Amulree (the Church here has an interesting local information display) - Take road over hill to Kenmore.From Kenmore - drive to Killin on A827. Ben Lawers Visitor Centre before Killen has a nature trail and hill walk (hill walk is very strenuous). At Killin, stop to look at Dochart Falls before taking the A85 to Lochearnhead. St. Fillans at the foot of the Loch is a pretty place to stop. Go on to Comrie and Crieff. Visit Drummond Castle Formal Gardens (pictured opposite).
At Crieff, visit Glenturret Distillery (pictured opposite and an award winning tourist attraction). Then go to Crieff Visitor Centre where you can see and purchase Stuart Crystal, Thistle Pottery etc. The Centre on the A822 - go to Muthill and get on the A828 or B8062 for Auchterarder.
