The Aberfeldy area boasts a superb selection of routes, ranging from the cascading waterfalls at the Birks of Aberfeldy, through the forest walks at Weem and Drummond Hill.

The area round Auchterarder is rich in possibilities including some serious hill walks which abound in the Ochil Hills. Walking is a special pleasure in Blairgowrie and the Angus Glens. The Cateran trail, a waymarked long distance route of some 60 miles is now open to walkers. The views for the walker in the Crieff area are superb, and local flora and fauna abound. Chosen walks might include a gentle stroll like Lady Mary's Walk and Crieff Nature trail, to longer hikes such as the Glen Lednock Circular Walk.

Around Dunkeld and Birnam, a new walks system links together a number of waymarked trails which wind through beautiful mixed woodland. Walking is enjoyed by many visitors to the Kinross area.

A particularly pleasant short walk is at Rumbling Bridge, where the River Devon tumbles through a rock gorge, passing under an unusual double Bridge. An Ideal introduction to Perth can be obtained by walking to the fine-wooded slopes of Kinnoull Hill, which overlooks the town. From its summit, panoramic views extend all around. Walking is a delight in the Pitlochry area, and visitors can enjoy riverside strolls, forest paths, or climb the higher hillsides to take in the breathtaking views for which the area is renowned.
